BACKGROUND:
The Village of Lansing has been involved in the New York State Climate Smart Communities (CSC) and Clean Energy Communities (CEC) program since 2019, when the Village’s Board of Trustees authorized the formation of a Village Climate Smart Communities (CSC)/Clean Energy Communities (CEC) Taskforce to advance the Village’s sustainability goals.
Through the Clean Energy Communities (CEC) program, the Village received two $5,000 New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) awards to fund Village of Lansing sustainable energy reduction projects aligned with Village goals, plans, and policies.
PURPOSE AND PROJECT GOALS:
The purpose of this community survey is to invite community members to prioritize proposed Village projects, and/or submit other project ideas for the Village to consider and undertake to advance long-term resilience and sustainability goals.
Proposed project(s) should reduce the Village’s energy use, increase carbon sequestration, and/or reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to create a more resilient and sustainable community for us all.
